LPGA star Lexi Thompson signs with new management team
Lexi Thompson has signed with a new management team – GSE Worldwide, Inc. The American star had been with the same agency – Blue Giraffe Sports – since she turned professional in 2010. Her brothers, Nicholas and Curtis, are also longtime Blue Giraffe clients.
While Thompson has changed caddies a number of times throughout her career, she has maintained a tight circle in her time on tour. Any change to that circle is significant.
Brett Falkoff, Senior Vice President of Golf at GSE, will be Thompson’s agent. He said they plan to market Thompson as a global athlete while also exploring Thompson’s other passions – like health and fitness – that she might want to pursue after golf.
“We want to be able to set her up for a position of success for whenever that might be,” he said.
Thompson, 25, has won 11 times on the LPGA, including the 2014 ANA Inspiration. The former prodigy has won an event on the LPGA in each of the past seven seasons, the longest active win streak on tour.
“The bottom line is it’s really been a remarkable ride the last 10-plus years with Lexi,” said Blue Giraffe CEO Bobby Kreusler. “We are truly proud of everything we were able to accomplish from a marketing, branding and imaging perspective. We had a front row seat in watching Lexi grow up from a young girl in pigtails to an amazing young woman and elite athlete. Together we experienced some truly epic highs and some extremely difficult lows. We went through it all together and I wouldn’t change a thing. It was an honor and a privilege to be on the journey together. We have nothing but love and respect for Lexi, and we of course wish her nothing but the best for the remainder of her career.”
Maria Fassi is the only other LPGA player on GSE’s roster of clients. PGA Tour pros GSE represents include: Sergio Garcia, Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Abraham Ancer, Jhonattan Vegas, Jim Furyk, Louis Oosthouizen, Scott McCarron and Vijay Singh.
